PDFCherry is a free online toolkit for working with PDF files. It brings together the everyday tasks people usually need a paid desktop program for — merging, splitting, compressing, converting to and from images, adding or removing passwords, adding page numbers or watermarks, editing document properties, and rearranging pages — and makes each one a single-purpose web page that does one job well.
There is no account to create and nothing to install. You open a tool, add your file, choose any options it offers, and download the result. It is built for students, freelancers, small businesses, and anyone who occasionally needs to fix or reshape a PDF without buying software for it.

Set any options the tool offers — page ranges, a password, a compression level, and so on.
Download the finished file. Your upload and the result are deleted automatically soon after.

Your files and your privacy
When you use a tool that processes your file on the server, the upload travels over an encrypted HTTPS connection and is handled in a folder unique to that job. Uploaded files are deleted automatically within about 30 minutes and generated results within about an hour, whether or not you download them, and no backups are kept. Passwords you enter for the Protect or Unlock tools are used only in memory and never stored. Full details are in the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

Most tools take a PDF and return a PDF. The image tools also accept JPG, PNG, and WebP, and the conversion tools produce JPG, PNG, plain text, or a ZIP archive depending on the tool. Each tool page lists exactly what it accepts and what it produces, along with the file size limit for that tool.

Do I need an account?
No. Nothing on the site requires registering or signing in.
Are my files safe?
Files are transferred over an encrypted connection and processed in a folder used only for your job. They are deleted automatically shortly afterwards, and their contents are never viewed, shared, or reused.
How long are my files kept?
Uploads are deleted within about 30 minutes and results within about an hour, whether or not you download them. There are no backups.
What is the largest file I can use?
Most tools accept files up to 50 MB. The exact limit is shown on each tool page. For larger files, try Compress PDF first.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. Every tool works in a modern mobile browser, including choosing files and downloading results.
Does PDFCherry edit the text inside a PDF?
The PDF Editor lets you add text, images, highlights, whiteout, and signatures on top of a page. Replacing the original body text of a PDF is not supported, because PDFs do not store text as editable paragraphs.
