Insert Blank Pages Into a PDF — Free & Secure
Add one or more blank pages to a PDF at the start, end, or right after any page. Fast, simple and free.
What Is This Tool?
Insert Blank Pages adds empty pages into an existing PDF exactly where you need them — at the very start, at the end, or right after a specific page. Choose how many blank pages to add and whether they should match the size of the page next to them, or use a standard A4 or Letter size.
Everything runs on our servers over a secure connection; your files are processed, made available for download, and then automatically deleted a short time later.
Why Insert Blank Pages Into a PDF?
Blank pages are often needed to leave room for handwritten notes, to separate sections of a document, to reserve space for a signature or stamp added later, or simply to pad a document out to an even page count before printing and binding.
Benefits of Inserting Blank Pages
- Insert at the start, end, or after any page
- Add one page or up to 100 pages in a single pass
- New pages automatically match the neighboring page size, or use A4/Letter
- No desktop software needed
Who Can Use This Tool?
- Students leaving room for handwritten notes between lecture slides
- Businesses reserving space for a signature or stamp page in a contract
- Authors and editors padding a manuscript to an even page count before printing
- Anyone adding a cover sheet or section divider to an existing document
A Few Real-World Examples
- A student inserts a blank page after each lecture slide to print out and take handwritten notes alongside it.
- A law office inserts a blank signature page at the end of a contract before sending it out for printing and signing.
- A self-publisher inserts blank pages to pad a manuscript to an even page count required by their print-on-demand service.
- An office assistant inserts a blank cover sheet at the start of a scanned packet before filing it.

Click "Insert Blank Pages".

Choosing an Insert Position
Start of Document — adds blank pages before the current first page, useful for a title page or cover sheet.
End of Document — adds blank pages after the current last page, useful for notes or an appendix.
After a Specific Page — adds blank pages immediately after any page you choose, useful for inserting a form or signature page in the middle of a document.
Choosing a Page Size
Match Neighboring Page sizes the new blank pages the same as the page they're inserted next to — the safest choice for keeping a document visually consistent. A4 and Letter insert a standard-sized blank page regardless of the surrounding pages.

Tips for Inserting Blank Pages
- Use "Match Neighboring Page" unless you specifically need a standard A4 or Letter size blank page
- Double-check the page number in "After a Specific Page" against your original document before submitting
- Insert multiple blank pages at once with the count field instead of running the tool repeatedly
- Open the result afterward to confirm the blank pages landed exactly where you intended
Troubleshooting
Problem: The blank pages appeared in the wrong place
Solution: Pages are inserted immediately after the page number you entered in "After a Specific Page" — if the document has since changed or you miscounted, re-check the page number against the original file and try again.
Problem: The new blank pages are a different size than the rest of the document
Solution: If "A4" or "Letter" was selected instead of "Match Neighboring Page," the new pages use that fixed size regardless of the surrounding pages. Re-run the tool with "Match Neighboring Page" selected instead.
Problem: I can't insert more than 100 blank pages
Solution: The maximum is 100 blank pages per pass. If you need more, run the tool again on the result to add another batch.
Problem: My file won't upload
Solution: Make sure the file is a genuine PDF under the 50 MB size limit. If it's password-protected, unlock it first with our Unlock PDF tool.

How many blank pages can I add at once?
You can insert between 1 and 100 blank pages in a single pass, all at the same position.
